This is our view from our home. I love to paint vistas because they are challenging and difficult. All those values and shades. We have 3 Arbutus Trees within our view, called Madrona trees in the USA. They like a subtropical climate that our ocean side provides. This painting required detailed strokes and texture for the Fir trees and for the Arbutus trees. Both are deciduous trees but the Arbutus has leaves and the conifers have needles. So much fun.
